This cosmopolitan stem plant turns red easier and is smaller than the well-known Ludwigia repens ’Rubin’. It's a flowering plant in the evening primrose family. It can be found in the America's but exisits in multiple continents. This plant was idenified in England in 1827. In the wild it can be fully aquatic or semi-aquatic found in marshy environments. A relativly easy plant to keep and a great addition to any aquascape to add a bit of color. We recomend planting in the midground to background depending on the size of the aquarium. Each stalk becomes 2-4 cm wide and 10-30 cm high.

  • Remove the plant from the pot and remove the rock wool and rinse in water. Remove dead leaves. Using aquascaping tweezers, plant in substrate.

The plant willingly creates side shoots, but cutting increases the amount and the plant becomes even denser. The cut-off shoots quickly generate new roots when replanted.
The plant becomes intensely red and grows better, when placed in light and with added CO2.
