Common Name: Dwarf Aquarium Lily 

 

Nyphaea stellata is native to the Indian subcontenent, Southeast Asia and Austrailia. A distinctive plant with triangular leaves and a beautiful change in coloration as the plant grows from green, red and pink. This plant can grow upto 31 in (80 cm). A great show piece plant in any aquascape and great in the midgrowund or background depending on the size of the aquascape.

  • Remove the plant from the pot and remove the rock wool and rinse in water. Remove any dead leaves. Using aquascaping tweezers, plant in substrate. Easy category plant that does best in medium to high light to help maintain that red coloration. This plant can grow pretty tall and grow lilly pads which can go to the surface and even block light. If you wish to maintain a plant submerged than trimming off these lily pads will be best with aquascaping scissors

    Do not completly burry the bulb into the substrae. Only burry about a third. CO2 is not nessessary. Once the plant starts to grow additional nutrients such as nutrition capsules may be needed. 

    DO NOT RELEASE PLANTS AND LIVESTOCK INTO LOCAL WATERWAYS.
